Westinghouse Electric Corporation
2151 Ashland Rd, Cleveland, OH 44103.
East of even the odd-numbered East 55th, south of Cedar, within a trapezoidal turf on Ashland, you can find a derelict building with "Westinghouse Electric" embossed on and crumbling off the main entranceway. The repetitious missing windows makes you question if this is some abandoned parking garage. The gorgeous overgrowth of greenery one might have seen on out-of-date GPS photos is stripped off exposing brick, mortar, and tags. A precursor to the garbage and graffiti within.
The first floor is littered with trash, tags, and trash tags. Sadly no tags about trash. The occasional attractive
piece. But mostly trash. Broken glass, wrappers, twigs, leaves, and tires. Why so many tires? One would get so tired
that their legs would feel like rubber if they had to count this entire room of tires. They almost had to wheel this big
lug out of there because of my exhaustion of tallying tiring tires. Just treading around with a bead on those things.
Vulcanizing ones grip on the present.
and other tire puns...
To dare to climb the corroding, collapsing carousel of stairs is to contain courage. Rising through the railless ranks to reach—a dead-end. Anything above here is off limits. Floor two is final. Stairs with no well shifts to be sans stairs as well.
Did the all-seeing eye witness the washing-away of the upwards walkway? Watching watery as the worn-out, degraded gradation deteriorated to dust and did downfall. Or was it later a wanderer elatedly wanded krylon creating a colorful cocoon on clay capable of captivating?
Also, who the fuck are you, MUCKY?
Back down the stairs.
One questions if this was always a courtyard or if that is a more-recent and permitless deconstruction. There is a part of me that understands this structure is beyond repair. That its razing would make way for the next generation's gaggle of gargantua. The inner curmudgeon can't comprehend a construction containing conscienscious capitalization and its cranium careens counterintuitively towards a can't do attitude. Can't conform to corporate confidence. Encouragement descended with the stairs.
The teenage turtles are totally tubular, but a terrible tumble there'd be terminal. On top of that, seedy structure's sewers are so likely sludgy. Survival seems scarce and slimy. No ooze to obtain above average abilities. Defy death completely coincidentally.
